Attending a Safety, Amenity and Performance review
Happens 2-3 times a month. "Attendance at a Safety, Amenity and Performance Review is a required part of the busking permit application process" - Find Dates
Melbourne has been getting stricter with permits. We recommend not busking without one or you could get a hefty fine. Jerks!

Busking Locations

Flinders Street Station Tunnels - MAP
- If you don’t have amplification the tunnels are great for sound
- Catch the work crowd 8am and 4pm Monday - Friday

Southbank - MAP
- Heavy tourist traffic on holidays & weekends
- Circle Act location corner Southbank Promenade & Southbank Pedestrian Bridge
- No Busking Southbank Promenade before 8am and after 10pm (you still can but there is a small risk of being asked to stop, lots of buskers still busk after 10)

Swanston Street - MAP
- Infront of the State Library
- Loud noise from passing trams

Federation Square - MAP
Prime Spot (apply directly to Federation Square management for busking permit)

Chapel Street
- Weekend Drinks Crowd
- Requires Separate Permit

Buckley Square, Brunswick
- Recommended by Melbourne busker Wally Howlett

Victoria Markets
Apply Here to perform at the markets
- Requires City of Melbourne Busking Permit

Batman Markets
Email [email protected] to lock in busking spots on a week-by-week basis. Musicians provided $15 - $20 lunch money and access to power and shelter. Best!
